   No one wants their kids to use products that are full of chemicals and other nasty ingredients.  We all want the best for our children.  My husband's niece has always had very sensitive skin, so she has to be careful with what products she uses not only on her skin, but her hair as well.  As soon as I heard about the TruKid line of all natural skin and hair care products for kids, I knew it would be perfect for her! 



   TruKid was created by a mother of six who wanted to find a better alternative than the chemical-filled, yucky-smelling (according to her children) bath products for children available. Using only natural ingredients with pure essential oils, she created the TruKid line.  To make the products even more appealing to children she combines bright, colorful and exciting packaging with fun, educational materials that help children learn to take care of themselves.  Each bottle is color coded and uses an simple symbol system so that even the smallest child can quickly see which product is for their hair, face and body.  Plus, the products are easy to use, smell ‘yummy’ and have all been kid approved!
  My niece, Ms. R, has the most beautiful, thick, long dark brown hair with a fair amount of natural curl, and along with curl comes tangles and dryness, so I couldn’t wait for her to try TruKid Silly Shampoo and Dancing Detangler!

What They Say:  this shampoo is a mild, safe cleanser for kid’s sensitive skin that effectively removes surface dirt and oil without stripping the hair of its natural oils. It is lightly scented with natural essential oils.  It contains no parabens, SLS, artificial colors or fragrances, and it is a biodegradable formula.
What Ms. R Says: In response to my questions, Ms. R says she really likes the scent and it leaves my hair soft and shiny!  It lathers up pretty good and rinses out easily without leaving a greasy feeling.  And when I accidentally get some in my eyes, it doesn’t burn!   Once dried, my hair is very soft, shiny and easy to style!  I really like the pump because it makes it easier to get the perfect amount out without using too much or too little.  It doesn’t bother my skin either.

What They Say:  this detangler has a special, non-sticky formula that takes the pain out of brushing.  Works great on hair of all ethnicities.  For younger children, use with parents help.
What Ms. R Says:  In response to my questions Ms. R says: I love this!  It smells really good, and gets all of the tangles out of my hair so when I brush it, there are no tangles and it doesn’t hurt to brush!  It doesn’t take a lot either.  I put it on right after I get out of the shower while my hair is still wet, just a few sprays and then I brush it through.  Once my hair is dry, it is soft and shiny and even with my curls I can comb it and not have any tangles.

My Verdict
   Although I can see how well it works on her hair, I wanted to give both the shampoo and detangler a try myself!  The shampoo really did lather well, especially for an all-natural product, and it has a very pleasant, light scent.  I also liked how quickly and easily it rinses out, and my hair was left squeaky clean.  Once dried, my hair was quite shiny and very soft.  I have naturally curly hair which tends towards the dry side, and I was impressed that the Silly Shampoo left it a lot less frizzy than it has been with other shampoos.
   As far as the detangler, I might have to get some for myself!  With all of my curls, my hair tends to stay tangled.  Once I sprayed the Dancing Detangler, I was able to run a comb through my hair with no snags and tangles, and after my hair dried, it was still tangle-free!
  I definitely recommend this line to anyone who has children, and even for yourself!  The entire line is extremely child-friendly with its fun product names, colorful packaging, color-coded system with easy to understand symbols, and its pleasant scents.  Ms. R.’s hair looks very soft and shiny with each use, and the detangler is wonderful!  As a parent, who could not like the fact that all of the ingredients are natural, and the products are safe to use without any of the yucky chemicals found in the majority of children’s bath and body products.  Plus, TruKid products are extremely affordable!
