SPANISH RICE

Family recipe.

If you like Spanish Rice, you have got to try this recipe.  It is very easy to make, and takes only about 25 to 30 minutes including prep time.  You can eat it by itself as a side item,  put it on tacos, use it in a taco salad and much more. Enjoy!

This recipe made enough for all three of us, plus leftovers. I’d say it could feed 4 or 5 people depending on serving sizes.

INGREDIENTS:

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 cup uncooked long-grain rice

1 teaspoon garlic salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/4 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup tomato sauce

2 cups chicken broth made from Knorr Homestyle chicken stock

DIRECTIONS

Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat and add rice.

Cook, stirring constantly, until it is puffed and golden brown.knorrdinner2 012

While the rice is cooking, sprinkle with salt and cumin.

Stir in onions and cook until tender.

Stir in tomato sauce and chicken broth and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes.

Fluff with a fork.

ENJOY!!

You've answered prayers! LOL thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I've been asking people to show me how to make Spanish Rice for years. I'll let you know how it goes when I make it!
