Look Like A Star with Starlooks

January Starbox
starlookslogo
It’s my favorite time of the month!  My Starlooks Starbox has arrived, and once again, it is filled with great full-sized products plus a special surprise!   If you are not familiar with Starlooks, they offer a great line of high-end cosmetics and beauty products that are comparable to MAC, yet much more affordable.  All of their cosmetics are lead-free, emollient-free and cruelty-free, and are available in a huge selection of beautiful colors and shades.  Starlooks offers one of my favorite beauty box subscription services, the Starbox.   Each month you will receive a box with three or four full-sized (yep, FULL-SIZED not sample size), beauty items from the Starlooks line, and quite often, the boxes will contain some extra surprises as well!  Each monthly box will have a minimum value of at least $35, but all you will pay is $15!  In addition, each month you can go onto the Starlooks site and find a preview of that month’s box, what came in boxes over the months past and, best of all, find photographic tips on using the items in the box by visiting the Looksbook page.  You can find even more tips when you visit the Starlooks YouTube channel!

Although what is inside the box is the most important detail, I always find that a nicely packaged box makes the entire experience that much better! January’s Starbox was beautifully put together in a green-colored box tied with a gold string.  Inside, wrapped in vibrant yellow tissue paper were 4 full sized cosmetic products (2 eye pencils, blush and a brush) along with an unexpected surprise, a fun beaded bracelet made by Abby Rose Designs!   Each Starbox revolves around a theme, and January’s theme was Eden.   I must say the bright colors used this month has me longing for gardens in Spring!
Keep reading to see what was included in January's Starbox!

Eye Pencil in Brown $8
starlooks 014

What They Say: smooth, creamy color-saturated, smudge-proof eye liner has a gorgeous chocolate brown tint.  It can also be used as a shadow base by coloring the entire eye lid.  Can also be used inside water line of eye.
What I Say:  I love this beautiful, rich brown color!  The liner itself glides on smoothly and is easy to lightly smudge for a smoky look, but is not so soft that it smears.  I like to use it to outline my entire eye, although you can use it as an all over shadow base as well.   The color is bold and lasts a long time.

Diamondline Pencil in Fancy $8

starlooks 027

What They Say:  an ultra-smooth, creamy, waterproof eye liner with a green sparkly tint that is light enough to be mixed or paired with other liner colors.  Can also be used as a shadow base base by covering the entire eye lid.  Will mix great with the Brown Eye Liner to make an olive tone.
What I Say:  this opaque liner has a metallic finish, and glides on satiny-smooth.  It is a pretty green color with a great silvery-shimmer to it that draws attention to your eyes.   It is soft enough that it easily blends with other colors, and when mixed with the Brown eye liner above, you get a beautiful shade of olive green.   The color is long lasting, but be careful when applying since the lead is so soft.  I really like that it is waterproof, but still comes off easily when you use a gentle cleanser.

Blush in Cuty Peach $12

starlooks 040

What They Say:  a gorgeous, pure, peach toned blush that is super color saturated, so a little goes a long way.  Perfect for that Spring look.  With a tiny amount of gold pearlecense, this blush can also be used to provide a bit of highlight to the cheek bone.
What I Say:  a little bit goes a long way is exactly right!  This blush is a beautiful, Spring-like shade of peach.  It applies easily, and is so well pigmented that I only have to swipe my brush once to get enough color for both cheeks.  Since it does have just the barest hint of golden pearlecense, I love to use it to high light my cheek bones.

858 Soft Small Dome Fluff Brush $15

starlooks 024

What They Say:  this brush is made from 100% pure, cruelty-free pony hair and is super soft.  Use it to blend eye shadow and eye liner for the perfect smoky effect, or use in the corner of the eyes, eye lid or under the lash line.  Also great for applying pigments or loose shadows.
What I Say:  this is an extremely soft brush that is perfect for applying eye shadow, both loose and compacted kinds.  The rounded, dome shape gives you two perfect edges to apply either a thin, detailed line, or a wide, stripe of color.  It also works well for smudging eye liner, and blending eye shadows and liners!  It is easy to clean, dries quickly, and is so well made that there are no hairs out of place or falling out.

And this month’s surprise bonus item…

Abbey Rose Designs: Green Ivy Bracelet

starlooks 010

What They Say:  this handmade bracelet is available for a limited time only on both the Abbey Rose Designs and Starlooks websites for only $15!  All of their jewelry and accessories are handmade and original designs.  There is also a code provided for free shipping on anything on the Abbey Rose Designs site.
What I Say:  the Green Ivy Bracelet is actually two different strands twisted together, one with large emerald green beads and the other a strand of smaller beads in multiple shades of green.  This memory wire bracelet simply wraps around your wrist and clings with out the use of fasteners or clips (Ivy being the perfect name!)  While I am not a fan of chunky jewelry, I do like all of the different shades of green combined together to form a bright, bold Spring-like look.  It is perfect for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day!  I have had the two strands come unwrapped, but it that was easily fixed.  I also looked around the Abbey Rose Designs site, and found tons of pretty and unique items that are very reasonably priced!

In Every Box:
As with every box, there was also a Starlooks mystic quartz crystal, the ultimate symbol of beauty that helps attract energy and maintain focus, as well as a card that includes a description of each item along with helpful tips for application.

My Verdict
January’s Starbox was another wonderful deal filled with great products with a total value of $63.  Your price as a subscriber? $15!  Wow! An incredible deal for some great products!
Another awesome quality about Starlooks’ Starbox is that if you find an item you fall in love with and need more, or if you want it in a different color,  you can order it separately through the Starlooks site, and do not have to pay any shipping costs as long as the order is under 10 lbs.!  You also have the option to order Starboxes from past months on the site, but you better hurry and get them before they are gone!  Starlooks also offers an array of different products such as hair care items, make up brushes and more.  Plus, they have a super rewards program where for every dollar you spend, you receive one point.  So, for example, 100 points will give you $10 towards your next purchase!
I WANT IT!  HOW DO I GET IT?
Now you can see why I truly love Starlooks and their Starbox program!  If you want to subscribe, simply click HERE, or go to http://starlooks.com/ and click the Starbox tab.  I definitely recommend the Starbox monthly subscription service as you will not only save a lot of money, but you get the opportunity to sample the entire Starlooks line!  You, too, will be delighted with the wonderful quality, long lasting color, affordable prices, helpful tips and amazing customer service you receive with your Starlooks cosmetics!  Be sure to check them out on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for great tips, information, promotions and more!
