A Piece of Paradise: Pacifica

Natural Perfume and Fragrances

I am a huge fan of pampering myself with bubble baths, soaps, lotions, candles and any other kind of scented “spoil me rotten” products, so when I found Pacifica, I found my own personal piece of paradise!   Pacifica was created by a lady named Brook Harvey Tayler who has always had a love for the world of scents.   Her company offers a great selection of body washes, butters, soaps, scrubs and perfumes (spray, solid or roll-on), available in a wide range of fragrances.  They also sell candles, diffusers and other gifts.  All of their bath and body products are made from natural ingredients, are 100% vegan and free of parabens, phthalates, and other artificial, harmful ingredients.  Pacifica does not test on animals either. So while many lotions and bubble baths and perfumes may smell wonderful, you can rest assured knowing that Pacifica not only has delectable scents, but they are using truly non-toxic ingredients.
I was lucky enough to get to try two of Pacifica’s products.  I chose to review one of their Body Butters and a Spray Perfume.  I was very impressed with both and now use them almost every day!
Pacifica’s Body Butter:  Lotus Garden
Unable to find a scented lotion she was truly crazy about, and wanting to find something to soothe and replenish her own skin, Pacifica’s founder decided to create her own line of moisturizing Body Butters.  Using only natural ingredients, and leaving out the harsh, irritating chemicals, their Body Butters make your skin fee silky smooth and hydrated.  The 8oz size retails for around $18, and some select scents are also available in a 2.5 oz. size for $5.
All of the Body Butters are created using many nourishing natural ingredients like mango and shea butters, kukui and macadamia nuts, rose hip seed oils and botanicals like arnica, chamomile and cucumber.  They are available in a number of fragrances divided into three categories: Fruits, Woods & Spices and Floral & Herbs.  I tried her Body Butter in the Floral & Herb scent called Lotus Garden.

Lotus Garden is made with Shea butter, Mango butter, Vitamin E, safflower oil, almond oil and and Rosehip Seed Oil.  Together these ingredients can moisturize even the driest skin.  Arnica, cucumber and chamomile help smoother skin to appear as well.  It contains no mineral oil, peanut oil or artificial colors.

The scent is this amazing mix which brings to mind exotic flowers and citrus, hard to explain but heavenly to smell!  To quote the description on the bottle: “A meditative blend of lotus blossom, green violet leaf, olibanum and pink pepper with citrus top notes. Radiant and exotic.”, says it all!
This thick and creamy body butter goes on easily, absorbs quickly and leaves your skin feeling as soft as silk.  There is no greasy after-feel, and the scent lingers for quite awhile.  It takes very little body butter to immerse your senses in a little piece of paradise.

Pacifica’s Spray Perfumes: French Lilac
“Having blended and worn her own personal perfumes for years, for Brook Harvey Tayler creating Pacifica Perfume represented a return to her original passion”.  Today, Pacifica Perfumes are created using only natural grain alcohol, water and pure essential oils.  They are available as Spray Perfumes, Roll-On and Solids, and are available in many blends ranging from Floral to Herbs & Spices, Woods & Resins and Fruits, these perfumes are 100% vegan and are made without any parabens, phthalates, mineral oils, propylene glycol or any other harmful ingredients.  Their Spray Perfumes cost around $22.

I tried some of Pacifica’s Perfume in a lovely Floral scent called French Lilac.  I found this romantic smelling perfume to be a very light scent with floral notes and a hint of citrus, not over-powering at all. Again the best description is from the bottle: “Lilac, fresh green Jasmine-like, blended with Heliotrope and Nectarine notes”. It is a pretty pale golden color and you only need one or two spritzes to give a long-lasting, light fresh scent.
Not only does Pacifica use natural ingredients, they are also very dedicated to the environment. They recently formed a partnership with the Ocean’s Future Society.  1% of all proceeds from the “Island Vanilla” fragrance collection will be donated to this society to help support all they do to ensure that our oceans will be clean and full of life for all future generations. Pacifica also recycles and uses post-consumer materials, has a goal to have zero product manufacturing waste in their factory. uses only suppliers who share their vision and so much more.
You can find and purchase all of Pacifica’s products on their site (www.pacificaperfumes.com) and can follow them on Twitter and Like them on Facebook. Their products can also be found at Whole Foods Markets and many other retailers nationwide.

I received this product for the purpose of review.  I was not compensated in any other way, nor am I under contract with this company.  All opinions are my own.
