Skoy Cloth Review

Reusable, Biodegradable Multi Use Cloth

skoylogo
Today there is the growing recognition of a need to cut down on the amount of trash we produce and chemicals we use.  People are starting to work towards using more and more eco-friendly products.  One of the rooms where the most waste is produced is the kitchen, and one of the most commonly used, and wasted, products is the paper towel.  These square pieces of paper are used for everything from wiping up spills to drying hands to cleaning the windows, then they are crumpled up and thrown away. A huge waste!  There is an alternative.  An eco-friendly alternative called the Skoy Cloth.

Skoy Cloths are 100% natural and biodegradable. They are made from a natural cotton and wood-based cellulose pulp, and are chlorine free using water-based inks for the color.  In one independent composting test, the Skoy Cloth broke down completely within 5 weeks!  These brightly colored, reusable cloths are extremely absorbent, capable of absorbing 15 times its own weight!
Have you ever noticed that icky smell that comes from your sponge no matter how many times you rinse it out?  That comes from bacteria. Skoy Cloths dry very quickly thus helping to eliminate the opportunity for the bacteria to grow, and if you microwave it regularly, then it will never happen.  They are also dishwasher and washer/dryer safe, allowing you to use it over and over again.  In fact, one Skoy Cloth is equivalent to using 15 rolls of paper towels in an average home.  Imagine the amount of paper towels and money you can save!
The first time I use my one of my new Skoy Cloths, I was amazed!  Each cloth measures around 6 3/4” by 7 3/4”. When you first wet it, it feels like you are holding a thick pile of paper towels with the absorbency of a sponge in your hand.   You simply squeeze it out and get to work.  I have used mine to wipe up spills, wipe down my counters, clean my glass-topped table, my mirrors, my furniture, dishes, pots and pans and so much more!  I have found them to be very durable, and I have used them with all my regular cleaning products, keeping in mind that chlorine use is not recommended.  They work just as well as any sponge, cleaning rag or paper towel I have used, with the added bonus of being bright, colorful and eco-friendly.  What more could I ask for?

Great review. We go through a lot of paper towels in my house so these sound like a great alternative.

These sound so neat, I am forever having to toss all the sponges and rags in hot water to wash them, then hope the dryer is hot enough to get everything out. Thank you for sharing.

These are great for buffing because they don't scratch up the surface but are really tough. Love the bright colors they come in too! =]
