L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference Product Review for EXPO TV

Permanent Hair Color Dark Auburn, 4R

I received a full size L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference permanent hair color to review from EXPO TV.   If you are not familiar with EXPO TV, it is a site where you do video reviews of products and receive points which you can redeem for gift cards and more.  EXPO TV will also send you products to review if you qualify for the demographic they are wanting.  This was the first product I have received, and I have only been a member for a few weeks now.  It is a lot of fun!
The color I chose to review is L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference in Dark Auburn, 4R, Warm.  Although I am a brunette, I have found that using an Auburn colored hair color gives my hair this nice dark auburn tint, especially in bright light and sunshine!  It also does a fabulous job covering those pesky grays!

I have used this product before, in fact, it is the brand I prefer when coloring my hair.  It is very easy to use and comes with everything you need to do a professional-looking color in your own home.  It gives your hair a natural looking color that lasts for up to 8 weeks.  Another thing I really like about L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference is that it comes with a tube of Color and Shine conditioner. A lot of other brands I have tried in the past do not come with this.  Each time I would color my hair, I noticed the color would leave my hair dry and frizzy, especially since my hair is naturally curly and tends to be a tad dry anyway.  So the conditioning treatment is a definite plus! Each box comes with the following:
  • easy-to-follow instructions
  • disposable gloves
  • a bottle of color optimizing creme
  • a bottle of color gel
  • a tube of Color and Shine Conditioner

Before beginning I do highly recommend wearing old clothes and using an old towel that you won’t mind if it gets stained.  I have also noticed it tends to work better if you wait one day after shampooing to use the color. The steps are easy: (***These are not meant to replace the instructions that are included with the product***)
  1. Add color gel to color optimizer and shake until it is mixed thoroughly!
  2. Add to roots then work it through your hair from roots to tips, going from the front of your head to the back.
  3. Let sit for 25 minutes
  4. Add warm water and work into a lather further working all the way through your hair for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Rinse completely until the water runs clear.
  6. Add Color and Shine conditioner, working all the way through your hair from roots to tips. Let stand for 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Rinse and you are done!

**Keep in mind, the conditioner that is included acts as a UV filter and adds Vitamin E to help lock in shine and color.  You want to use it at least once a week after you color.  It smells nice and leaves your hair soft and manageable!**
I was very happy with the results!  All of those pesky grays I mentioned? Gone!  My hair is a nice deep Auburn-color and the color is uniform and looks natural!  Best of all, my hair is soft, non-frizzy and does not feel dry and brittle.  I would highly recommend L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference to anyone who wants a natural looking, brilliant color!
L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference comes in many colors and shades.  Click HERE to visit the L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference tab on the L'Oreal Paris homepage.  You can also find coupons, tips, instructional videos and more!  Don’t forget to save your bottle so you have the numbers needed to use this product towards your L'Oreal Rewards, where you get a free hair color for every 5 that you buy!

WOW! The color is fantastic! How well do you think the dye would show up on black hair? I'm considering going auburn...
