A Wild Soap Bar

Sunflower Castile Liquid Soap GIVEAWAY!!

soaplogo

Family owned and operated, A Wild Soap Bar has been creating hand-crafted, pure and natural soap using organic vegetable oils, real essential oils and wild and organic herbs since 1995.   This Austin, Texas based company has always strived to be eco-friendly not only in the ingredients they use, but in their packaging, and all of their products are cruelty-free as well.  None of their products contain any petroleum, FD&C dyes, sulfates, triclosan, TEA or other harmful chemicals.  But hand crafted soaps are not the only items they sell.  They also offer a great selection of interesting handmade gifts and organic balms and oils.  I had the opportunity to try some of their new Sunflower Castile Liquid Soap.
What is castile soap?  It is basically an olive oil based soap. Castile is nothing more than the name used by English-speaking countries which refers to the style of making the soap which originated in the Castile region of Spain. A Wild Soap Bar offers a liquid form of castile soap which comes in a glass bottle with a pump, and is offered in three scents: Blue Bonnet, Sunflower and Prickly Pear.  All of these are made with pure and natural ingredients and contain NO artificial colors, sulfates, synthetic fragrances or preservatives.   They can be used for a variety of purposes such as bathing humans and pets, washing laundry and other general non-toxic cleaning.  It is safe to use on woodwork, fine linens and all washable surfaces.

As I mentioned, I received a bottle of the Sunflower Castile Liquid Soap and have been enjoying it!  The ingredients include organic vegetable oils from coconut, olive and jojoba, as well as organic aloe vera and the essential oils of lime, coriander, petitgrain, lemongrass and cedarwood.  The scent is a very fresh and rich lemon-lime citrus that makes me think ‘clean’ whenever I smell it.  I have been keeping it by my kitchen sink where I use it to wash my hands, although I have used it for other purposes as well! The soap is a thin liquid and one pump is plenty to wash my hands.  It has a nice lather and rinses away quickly and thoroughly, with no leftover residue.  It leaves my hands squeaky clean, soft and not dried-out feeling.

I found a simple recipe for a home made disinfecting all purpose cleaner on the A Wild Soap Bar site which calls for mixing the castile soap with water and vinegar, then adding a favorite essential oil for scent (see below).  I made one spray bottle of this cleanser and have used it on everything from my kitchen counters to our tub, and I have been quite pleased with the result!

Disinfecting All Purpose Cleaner Recipe by A Wild Soap Bar
2 cups water
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 tablespoon liquid castile soap
20 drops of a pure essential oil of your choice
Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle. Use where needed.

My Opinion?
This is a fabulous all-natural, liquid castile soap which I definitely recommend!  I can use it many times a day on my hands and it leaves them looking, smelling and feeling clean.  It also leaves my hands soft and does not dry my skin.  Whenever I use it for cleaning, either by itself or mixed, whatever I am cleaning is left free of dirt and disinfected.  Since it is all- natural, I don’t have to worry about harmful chemicals and harsh odors.  I have found that it takes only a small amount to go a long way, and since the bottle is glass, it is re-fillable.  You can purchase a refill bottle of the soap along with all of their other products at http://www.awildsoapbar.com/.  You can also find A Wild Soap Bar products at many fine stores, just use their Store Locator to find a place near you!   ‘Like’ A Wild Soap Bar on Facebook and follow on Twitter to learn some interesting facts, be the first to know about new products, enter giveaways and more!  You can also follow them on Pinterest!  And, one lucky Bullock’s Buzz fan will get to win their very own bottle of Sunflower Castile Liquid Soap!  Just enter the Rafflecopter below!  This giveaway will start at 12:01am EST tonight!
GOOD LUCK!!

I love a good hand soap! Plus the single pump being more than enough is awesome - that's rare in most soaps today.
