OneMark Creations: Hand Crafted Goods

Original Tea, Coffee and Kitchen Accessories

omclogo
Since I am one of those people who love to cook and spend time in her kitchen, I want my kitchen to be as pretty and cozy as possible. So when I was looking around on the internet and found OneMark Creations, I knew I had found a new favorite place to shop for myself and for gifts for my friends and family.
OneMark Creations is owned and operated by Deb Messina, a sewer and quilter of over 30 years.  A frequent traveler and tea lover, she got tired of not finding the teas she enjoyed while away from home, so she began bringing her own tea bags in a plastic bag.  Loving the convenience, but unhappy with the lack of attractiveness of the bags, Deb created and copyrighted an original tea bag wallet design and named it the “Tea Bag Travel Wallet”.   She also decided to create a better tea cozy explaining that the typical wrap-around design of most tea cozies allows for the heat to escape. Hers sit flat on the table with no handle or spout holes, allowing your tea/hot water to stay piping hot until you are ready for more.  In 2007 Deb decided to take her business online through Ebay, which later led to her opening her own online store, OneMark Creations.
Today, both online and in her retail store in Beaverton, Oregon, she has expanded her line to include small kitchen Appliance Covers, Tea Cozies, French Press Cozies, Tea Travel Wallets, Egg Cup Cozies, Handle Wrap/Fingertip Pot Cozies and more, all made with the highest quality materials from her own designs right here in the United States.  There is a great selection of colors and patterns to choose from ranging from solids to flowers to Asian symbols to paisleys;  something for every taste and desire!
I was lucky enough to receive a beautiful standard-size Tea Cozy and matching Tea Bag Travel Wallet in a floral pattern with butterflies called Mums and Butterflies on Gold to review. This is a beautiful, colorful pattern covered with blooming flowers and multi-colored butterflies on top of a gold-colored background.  The Tea Cozy is reversible and the pattern on the other side is one with hundreds of tiny, golden leaves on top of a brownish background.  Both pieces are made from high quality, 100% cotton fabric, and are very well crafted!

Mums and Butterflies Standard-Sized Tea Cozy:
The Tea Cozy material is fairly thick, adding to the original design idea of not letting any heat escape.  It fits perfectly on top of my tea pot, covering both spout and handle, and reaching all the way down to the table.  It is a reversible pattern allowing for two different looks, and has a loop of thread sewn onto the peak to make removal easy.  It really does keep my tea or water hot for hours at a time.   Since this cozy is completely removed before pouring, there is very little chance of it becoming stained, unlike the cozies that wrap around the tea pot.  And when it is not in use, it folds flat to fit easily into a drawer or cabinet.  One reminder: these cozies are NOT meant to be used on a tea kettle (the one’s that sit on the stove to warm your water or tea in, or the electric ones), only on a tea pot.  These materials are cotton, which means they are flammable, so please do not use this on a kettle, or any where near a stove or flame!
OneMark Creations Tea Cozies are available in Personal, Standard and Extra Large sizes, and a great variety of colors and patterns. They range in price from around $20 up to $28 depending on size.  If you are not sure what size you need, you can click HERE for their handy measuring guide.

IT’S REVERSIBLE!
Mums and Butterflies Tea Bag Travel Wallet:
This is a truly creative, unique and convenient way to carry your tea bags with you, or to just hold a few bags while you sit at the table outside drinking a couple of cups of tea.  It has a button sewn on the front with a loop of thread used to close it, and can hold five (5) to six (6) individual teabag packs perfectly, as well as some packs of sweetener.
The Tea Bag Travel Wallets are available in both Small (5-6 bags) and Large (12 bags) sizes, with the Large size having a handy center divider to keep the bags neat.   They range in price from $9.95 for the small to $12.95 for the large.  There is also a Travel Tea Wallet designed for carrying Loose Leaf teas that comes with two food safe tins and a pocket for disposable tea filters.  This one costs $24.95 and comes with a box of 100 tea filters.

I got distracted when I saw they have toaster covers. My toaster is the only appliance that sits out 24/7 and I would love to cover it up.

For the tea cozy, I think I'd probably just go with the plain brown one.
