The Quick Easy Way to Pack and Send Lunch

   Brown bags, plastic lunch boxes, metal lunch boxes, nylon lunch bags, Tupperware, plastic baggies, reusable baggies, there are tons of different ways to pack a lunch and send it to school with your child or to work with your spouse or for yourself.   Most of these involve using smaller several bags or containers so there can be a variety of foods to eat.  Easy Lunchboxes has the perfect solution! 

  Created by a mom who wanted an economical, quick way to pack and send healthy lunches with her daughters to school with little or no extra packaging or ingredients, Easy Lunchboxes are exactly what their name suggests, easy lunchboxes.   Three products were created, the Easy Lunchboxes Compartmentalized Food Storage Containers, the Lunch Bag Coolers, and the Mini Dippers (dip and sauce containers) all of which together to form the Easy Lunchbox System.  What is the Easy Lunchbox System, you ask?  It is basically an easy to pack lunchbox using the Food Storage Containers and the Mini Dippers to store the food, then fit the entire thing perfectly into the handy cooler bag.

   The Easy Lunchboxes Compartmentalized Food Storage Containers are made of non-toxic, food-safe BPA-free polypropylene, and are free of lead, vinyl, PVC, and phthalates.  Each one comes with a colorful, easy-to-remove lid, and they are refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher and microwave safe!  They measure 9.38” x 6.1” x 2” and have three separate compartments, one large and two smaller, each of which are designed to provide the perfect serving size for a balanced, healthy meal.  The largest compartment is 2.5 cups, and is the perfect size for a sandwich or small salad.  The second smallest compartment holds 3/4 cup, and the smallest holds 1/2 cup, and both are the perfect size for fruits, veggies, chips and other sides.  Four containers come in one set and are designed to where they nest perfectly inside one another without the lids on, and stack perfectly together with lids.  Best of all, these storage containers fit perfectly into the Easy Lunchboxes Lunch Bag Coolers!

   Since the lids are made to be easy for a child to open, this means that while they fit, they are not extremely tight, so if you turn it upside down with food in it and shake, there is a chance the lid will come off, so be sure to keep them upright.  Likewise, they are not leak proof, so do not put any liquids or very wet foods in them.  There is extra room inside the Lunch Bag Coolers specifically for this reason, that way you can add a thermos or even some of the Mini Dippers which are leak proof.  The Compartmentalized Food Storage Containers are sold in sets of 4 for only $13.95!

     The perfect addition to the containers, and another part of the Easy Lunchbox System, are the Easy Lunchbox Lunch Bag Coolers!  These insulated lunch bags are made of the highest quality, non-toxic materials, and are vinyl-free.  The 300D Polyester outside is extremely durable and tough, and the FDA compliant PEVA inside lining is also quite durable!  The bags can be wiped down with a soapy cloth, or even put inside the washing machine on a cold water, gentle cycle then air dried.   They measure 9” x 6.5” x 6.5”, which is roomy enough for the Storage Containers, a water bottle, an ice pack and an extra snack or two;  or you can pack 2 of the Compartmentalized Food Storage Containers and still have room for an ice pack, or you can just pack 3 of the containers! Any way you do it, there is plenty of room for a full-sized, healthy meal.  I also keep all 4 of my Compartmentalized Food Storage Containers and lids nestled together inside the cooler bag when they are not in use which makes for very convenient storage!

  The bags are soft-sided, and it is recommended that you use these bags with the Food Storage Containers since they are made for a custom fit. They are available in 6 bright colors, and have a sturdy carrying strap with a grommet on one part of the handle so you can hang a name tag or something more creative to help personalize the bag. The bags can even be customized with a clip-on decoration of your choice for an extra personal touch! Each bag costs only $7.95!

  

  They also make the Easy Lunchboxes Mini Dippers which are smaller sized containers perfect for sauces, dips and other wet foods. They measure 2” x 2.5” x 1.5”, or 2.5 fl oz., and will fit easily inside the Easy Lunchboxes Compartmentalized Food Storage Containers. The bottoms are made of the same non-toxic, food-safe, BPA and phthalate-free polypropylene. The kid-friendly, leak resistant lids are also non-toxic, food-safe, BPA and phthalate free, but are made of #4 LDPE. These containers are dishwasher, refrigerator and freezer safe, but are NOT meant to be put in the microwave. They are perfect for salad dressings, sauces, condiments and other condiments. Tips for Care

    Easylunchboxes are very durable and should last a long while with a bit of care.  Here are a few tips to help them last:

- we all know how kids toss their backpacks down on the ground where they get stepped on, sat on and more. Be careful not put the Easylunchboxes in your child's backpack, especially with heavy books. 

-use the tabs on the sides of the lids to open them.

-while they are dishwasher safe, be sure to put them in their own slot (they will usually fit great on the bottom rack) where they will be less likely to bump around with other dishes when the dishwasher is in use.  Also, don't wedge them in between heavy pots, pans or dishes.

My Verdict

   I really love the Easy Lunchboxes system!  The compartmentalized containers allow me to send the perfect amount of food with our son to school, and they fit perfectly in the cooler bag, with plenty of room left for an ice pack, drink and some extra sides.  They are very easy to pack, as well as to clean and store when they are not in use. I am planning on getting a set of the Mini Dippers so I can have the entire system.  I would definitely recommend the Easy Lunchboxes System to anyone looking for a non-toxic, food-safe, easy-to-use, economical lunchbox to send with your child to school or even to take to work for yourself!

   Everyone who has ever lived in an apartment has been faced with the dilemma of how to make that apartment feel like home when you are restricted in the amount of decorating you can do as far as painting and wall papering. That is why I love using wall decals, wall stickers and other removable wall art.  They are the perfect way to give your apartment that personal touch that makes it your home,  And since they are removable, you don’t have to worry about losing your security deposit once you move!
    I recently came across a wonderful, reputable site called Dezign with a Z that has a huge selection of removable vinyl wall decals that are not only high quality, but are very reasonably priced as well!   They offer a wide selection of wall decals, wall stickers and even full-sized murals.  They have decals from ever genre imaginable including sports, nature, trees, floral art, animals, music, urban, characters and more.  They have cool decals specifically for kids rooms including glow-in-the dark decals and ‘writables’, and they even offer custom wall decals where you can send in your own artwork and have it made into a decal or mural! 
   I was given the opportunity to review an item, so I chose one of their tree wall decals.  The main theme running through out our apartment is Asian, so when I saw the Bird Branches Asian wall stickers, I knew that would be the perfect piece for our hallway leading from the den to the bedrooms.



   Like many of Dezign with a Z’s decals, Bird Branches is highly customizable in that it is available in three different sizes, and you can choose the colors you want for the entire piece.  There is even a program on the site that allows you to choose your wall color, then adjust the decal’s colors so you can see how it will look in a variety of selections.  For example, with Bird Branches, I had the opportunity to choose not only the color of the branches, but the color of the blooms as well.  I was amazed with the number of color choices available!
  Detailed instructions, a couple of practice decals and a squeegee to help smooth out any bubbles were all included with the decal to make application a cinch!  Like many Dezign with a Z decals, Bird Branches is a removable vinyl decal so it won’t damage the walls when it is time to remove.

   The first step was to spread it out on a flat surface and rub firmly over the entire decal with the squeegee in order to strengthen the bond between the decal and the transfer tape.

   Then I removed the decal from the white backing a little bit to make sure the decal was sticking properly to the tape.

  Next I placed the decal where I wanted it on the wall and smoothed the top edge onto the wall to make it stick. I then peeled off the white backing starting at the top and pulling downwards towards the bottom, smoothing with my hand as I went.  I continued this all the way down until the entire decal was attached to the wall.  I then went back over it with the squeegee to make sure there were no air bubbles or wrinkles.




  Then I slowly began removing the transfer tape starting at a top corner and slowly pulling it down.  I had no problems with the decal remaining on the transfer tape, but if this does happen, simply roll it back up, repress firmly against the wall, then began peeling it off again.


  Finally I took a clean, smooth cloth and went over the entire decal, pressing firmly, to further remove any air bubbles.

   Now it was time to add the blooms!  I simply pulled them off the sheet one at a time, and put them on the decal where I wanted them to go.



  Voila!  Instant improvement!  The decal looks so good, it’s almost as though an artist came in and painted it on the wall!


My Verdict
  I love it!  Now, instead of a boring blank wall, I have a pretty piece of artwork that adds color and character to my home.  This is one of the best decals I have used in that the vinyl is very easy to work with and is extremely durable.  The colors look exactly as they did on the site, and are bright and bold.  I definitely recommend Dezign with a Z vinyl decals to anyone looking to add a bit of flair to their home. Dezign with a Z decals are an inexpensive and simple way to decorate your apartment, condo, dorm or house and make it into your home!

Soft Scrub–Total All Purpose Cleanser

   Growing up Soft Scrub was a cleaning staple in our house for our bathrooms.  So once I was on my own, I naturally used it in my home as well.  It has always done a great job on sinks, tubs and toilets, and though I remember the original version being a bit gritty and difficult to rinse, it never damaged any surfaces and left everything sparking clean.  Now, Soft Scrub has come out with a new, improved version, Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Bath and Kitchen Cleanser!
   This new formula has increased cleaning power and a new bottle design and cap for better dispensing and spill prevention.  It also has a fresh, clean lemony scent that is much less over-powering than the original formula, and it makes cleaning a bit more pleasant!
    I had the two perfect places to give this new lemon cleanser Soft Scrub a test run: my stainless kitchen sink and our bathtub!  I was extremely pleased with the results! 
  Since I have used the original version of Soft Scrub I wasn’t at all worried about it being too abrasive and scratching the stainless sink (any more than it already is!), but I was hoping it would get rid of some of the stains that had been in the sink since we moved in a few months ago.  I put just a small amount of the lemon cleanser in the sink, grabbed a damp sponge and went to town.  This formula is a lot less gritty and not as thick than what I was used to, and it did a wonderful job of getting all of the stains out of the sink.  Plus, when it came time to rinse, it was a cinch!  With the original formula, I used to have to rinse quite a few times and sometimes even use the sponge since the cleanser was so thick and gritty.  With the new Soft Scrub Total All Purpose Cleanser, it rinsed away quickly and thoroughly!  My sink was left shiny clean, with a lingering lemon scent.

   Next was the yucky, grimy bathtub which, I am ashamed to say, has been in desperate need of a good scrubbing!  Well, I was amazed to find that there was very little scrubbing involved with Soft Scrub Total!   With a sponge, a good squirt of Soft Scrub and just a small amount of elbow grease, our tub was soon white and shining!  And once again, the Soft Scrub rinsed away quickly and thoroughly.

My Verdict
   I am thrilled with Soft Scrub Total All Purpose formula!  It may be super tough on dirt and grime but it is gentle on surfaces!  Its lemony scent is very pleasant and not at all overpowering.  My sinks and tubs have never looked so bright and clean.  Since it is an all purpose formula, I know it can be used for many other things in addition to a lemon kitchen and bathroom cleanser. What They Say:  this shampoo is a mild, safe cleanser for kid’s sensitive skin that effectively removes surface dirt and oil without stripping the hair of its natural oils. It is lightly scented with natural essential oils.  It contains no parabens, SLS, artificial colors or fragrances, and it is a biodegradable formula.
What Ms. R Says: In response to my questions, Ms. R says she really likes the scent and it leaves my hair soft and shiny!  It lathers up pretty good and rinses out easily without leaving a greasy feeling.  And when I accidentally get some in my eyes, it doesn’t burn!   Once dried, my hair is very soft, shiny and easy to style!  I really like the pump because it makes it easier to get the perfect amount out without using too much or too little.  It doesn’t bother my skin either.

Dancing Detangler


What They Say:  this detangler has a special, non-sticky formula that takes the pain out of brushing.  Works great on hair of all ethnicities.  For younger children, use with parents help.
What Ms. R Says:  In response to my questions Ms. R says: I love this!  It smells really good, and gets all of the tangles out of my hair so when I brush it, there are no tangles and it doesn’t hurt to brush!  It doesn’t take a lot either.  I put it on right after I get out of the shower while my hair is still wet, just a few sprays and then I brush it through.  Once my hair is dry, it is soft and shiny and even with my curls I can comb it and not have any tangles.

My Verdict
   Although I can see how well it works on her hair, I wanted to give both the shampoo and detangler a try myself!  The shampoo really did lather well, especially for an all-natural product, and it has a very pleasant, light scent.  I also liked how quickly and easily it rinses out, and my hair was left squeaky clean.  Once dried, my hair was quite shiny and very soft.  I have naturally curly hair which tends towards the dry side, and I was impressed that the Silly Shampoo left it a lot less frizzy than it has been with other shampoos.
   As far as the detangler, I might have to get some for myself!  With all of my curls, my hair tends to stay tangled.  Once I sprayed the Dancing Detangler, I was able to run a comb through my hair with no snags and tangles, and after my hair dried, it was still tangle-free!
  I definitely recommend this line to anyone who has children, and even for yourself!  The entire line is extremely child-friendly with its fun product names, colorful packaging, color-coded system with easy to understand symbols, and its pleasant scents.  Ms. R.’s hair looks very soft and shiny with each use, and the detangler is wonderful!  As a parent, who could not like the fact that all of the ingredients are natural, and the products are safe to use without any of the yucky chemicals found in the majority of children’s bath and body products.  Plus, TruKid products are extremely affordable!
