MopTop Unruly Hair Care

No More ‘Mop Head’

Growing up I acquired the loving nickname, ‘Mop Head’ due to the fact that I had been blessed/cursed with a cap of crazy curls.  I can remember as a child hating my hair and spending hours upon hours trying my best to brush it out into straight, sleek and shiny tresses.  Instead my labors of love resulted in poufy, dry frizz!   Finally, in my teens, I learned to love my locks, which in turn has led me on a mission to find a hair care line for naturally curly hair that will leave my hair a moisturized mass of sleek and shiny curls.  I know there are tons of products marketed towards curly hair, but only some of them actually work to leave my hair soft and manageable with frizz-free defined curls.  Most people with curly hair tend to have a dry texture to their hair which, without enough moisture, leads to the dreaded ‘f’ word, frizz!  Therefore, I try to find products that will add moisture without weighing down my curls.  So when surfing around on the Internet one day, you can imagine my surprise when I came across a hair care brand called MopTop which is for people with dry, frizzy, kinky and curly hair.

Their products contain no sulfates, silicones or waxes, and better yet, the styling products have no alcohol to dry hair out even more!  They use only the best natural ingredients in their line.  I had the chance to try some of their products, and was very pleased with the results!
Lavender Mint Gentle Shampoo
What they say: made with rich humectants and moisturizing botanicals it protects and tames hair while restoring moisture and manageability.  Contains sea botanicals and honey. No sulfates, silicones or parabens.
What I Say: it has a wonderful, minty scent mixed with the soothing aroma of lavender. It is a natural shampoo so therefore it will not lather as much as other shampoos, and it rinses out quickly and thoroughly.  My hair is left clean, shiny and noticeably less frizzy.
Price: from $21.95 for 12oz

Lemon Sage Daily Conditioner
What They Say: made with rich humectants and moisturizing botanicals it protects and tames hair using sea botanicals and honey.  Penetrates the hair to build up moisture content and helps prevent split ends.  No silicones and no wax.
What I Say: a pleasant lemony scented conditioner that helps detangle my hair.  It rinses away easily without leaving a slick feeling residue.  Leaves my hair, soft, manageable and less frizzy without weighing my hair down.
Price: from $23.95 12oz.

Herbal Detangler and Refresher Spray
What They Say: use on wet or dry hair to restore moisture and manageability.  Or use to refresh your style.  Made with rich humectants and botanical moisturizers it helps to hydrate and prevent split ends.  Contains water-soluble ingredients and is infused with sea botanicals and honey.  No parabens or silicones.
What I Say: I like to use this spray when my hair is still damp right before I apply the styling gel.  It helps keep my hair from tangling, and does not weigh my curls down.  I can see a noticeable difference in the amount of frizz, too.
Price: from $17.95 8oz.

Light Hold Anti-Frizz Gel
What They Say:  a lightweight non-oily gel that smoothes and softens dull, frizzy and kinky hair.  Infused with sea botanicals and honey, made with water soluble ingredients.  No silicones, parabens or alcohol.
What I Say:  another wonderful smelling product, this is a very lightweight gel that helps shape and define my curls without leaving my hair with that crunchy feeling.  It also helps to reduce frizz.
Price: from $19.95 8oz.

All in all I am very pleased with this line of hair care products!  I found that they do exactly as advertised and help to reduce the frizziness and unruliness of my naturally curly hair!  Since MopTop is also good for color treated hair, I don’t have to worry about it stripping my color or leaving it dull and flat.  They also make a gentle hair care line for children called FuzzyDuck.  This line also contains natural ingredients to help reduce frizz and add manageability to curly, kinky unruly hair.
If interested in MopTop, you can find their products in top salons across the country, just check out their Salon Locator to find a location near you.  You can also purchase their products through their website at http://moptophair.com/
Be sure to check out MopTop on Facebook and Twitter for all of the latest tips and hair care news!

No clue where the heck she got it, but my daughter has the craziest, curliest hair EVER! Gotta be from her dad because mine is wavy and straight. It's SO hard finding products that tame the curls, fight the frizz, and keep it soft without getting oily. I would love to check these out especially because they are all natural.

Those sound great! We don't have any curly tops here. :( Maybe one day my baby girl will have lots of hair! Or even SOME hair. That'd be nice. LOL

Love the name! I'd like the detangler for my daughter! She has straight hair, but it's so long that it's always tangled!
