Shine Like A Star with Starlooks

   Last month I told you about what is quickly becoming one of my favorite monthly subscription boxes, one for cosmetics and other beauty products that are made by Starlooks, called Starbox.  Each month you will receive at least 3 to 4 full sized products from the Starlooks line that will have a minimum value of at least $35, but will only cost you $15 a month!    September’s Starbox came in a pretty white box, embossed with the Starlooks logo, and tied with a white ribbon.  After last months awesome box, I couldn’t wait to see what was inside!  It turns out September’s box was even better because it came with not three or four, not five, but six full-sized products!  Yes, six!  There was one Starlooks’ Signature Eyeshadow Palette with five beautiful, opalescent colors to use for the eyes, and a jar of Clear Eye Shadow Primer.  Then there was another surprise!  A little canister of Eye Jewelry Swarovski eye crystals!  And I can’t forget, the Starlooks mystic quartz crystal, the ultimate symbol of beauty, one of which comes in every box and helps to attract energy and maintain focus.  A great box indeed!

 

Monographic 5 Shade Shadow Pallet $30 value

 

What They Say: 5 hand picked and combined to create a variety of eye looks from day to night, shimmers to mattes & neutral to colors that pop!

What I Say:  these monographic shadows are opalescent and have a slight shimmer.  They are perfect for complimenting darker colored eye shadows, highlighting the brow, adding on top of a darker color for a new, unique color or using them on their own.  The colors are the lightest shades of yellow, opal (a mix of olive, purple and pale gold), pink, purple, and mint green.  They have a wonderfully silky texture, apply easily and blend well!  The palette also contains a mirror, and once you are done with the shadows, you can simply pop them out and re-use the container!

 

Clear Sensation I-Primer $15 value

What They Say:  this silicon-based primer is to help smooth the skins texture and prime the eye for make up application;  it has a matte, flawless finish.  Apply using finger tips.

What I Say:  this clear primer is the perfect texture and consistency.  It has a silky smooth, almost powder-like texture.  It is not oily or greasy, nor does it leave a shine.  Instead it has a slightly sticky quality in order to help enhance color, and allow the shadow stay on your lid longer.  However, you really cannot feel any stickiness on your eyelid.  Have you ever noticed how eye shadow seems to be one color in the case and another when you put it on your lid?  This primer will fix that, and the color you see in the case will be what you see on your eye.

What They Say:  simply apply these flat-backed Swarovski eye-crystals with lash glue to compliment the tips or bases of lashes, or frame the eye with a sparkle.

What I Say:  these tiny champagne and opal colored crystals are the perfect complement to the opalescent colors of the eye shadow palette, and draw attention to your eyes.  They are easy to apply and can be used to form an artistic look.  Very noticeable despite the neutral colors.

Verdict:

All in all I was very satisfied with my box. The total value of the items is around $45, not including the cost of the Swarovski eye-crystals or the mystic crystal.  Not a bad deal for $15!   I was very impressed with the quality of the make up, and would definitely recommend joining Starlooks monthly subscription box service, Starbox.
