     Living in an apartment presents some limitations as far as decorating and color schemes are concerned.  That’s why accessories play such a large role. After all, you can’t change the bland colored carpets nor the eggshell white walls so if you want color, accessories are the way to go.  So when looking around for accents rugs, and coming across Madison at Main’s collection of Jellybean Rugs, I knew I had found what I was looking for! 

    Jellybean Rugs are made by a company called Home Comfort, Inc.  These bright, cheerful indoor or outdoor rugs contain 35% recycled post-consumer PET plastics, and are extremely soft and durable.  They come in a huge variety of colors and designs, everything from animals to plants to nature scenes and sports, as well as geometrical patterns, holiday themes, monograms and more! There is a design for every taste and for every room in your home. 
    Everyone knows that rugs will get dirty especially if they are in front of an outside door or in the kitchen or bathroom.  With a Jellybean Rug, you don’t have to worry because they are machine washable!  Just throw your rug in the wash with like colors, use cold water and line dry.  Be sure you DO NOT use any bleach.  If you just need to spot clean, Madison at Main suggests you use only clean water without any soap unless it is absolutely necessary.  This is because soap residue will actually attract dirt,so if you must use some, rinse it off with a vinegar and water solution.

     Madison at Main was kind enough to give me the opportunity to choose a Jellybean rug for review.  It took me quite awhile to pick out the one I wanted the most because there are so many cute choices!  I finally decided on the “Kitties in the Window” since I am a huge cat-lover and one of the four cats resembles our Sookie.  I was so excited when it was quickly delivered!  It measures approximately 21” by 33”, and is very soft and well made.   I was very impressed with the quality.  You can tell the weave is very tight and there are no loose strings or snags.  I have washed it one time to see how well the colors stay, and it is as bright and colorful as the day I got it!  I do however, highly recommend purchasing a rug liner as the backing on these rugs are NOT slip resistant!

     After much debate between the kitchen, bathroom and den, I finally decided to place it in front of the sliding glass door leading out to our porch.  It adds the perfect touch of color to our otherwise drab tan-colored carpet, and the cat is quite pleased as she has now claimed the rug as her personal viewing spot by the glass door so she can look outside;  exactly like the cats pictured on the rug!
