Influenster: Palmolive Fresh Infusions

A Trio of Scent-Infused Dish Soaps
influenster-40_600

The other day I received my third VoxBox from Influenster, that awesome site where you can receive new products for free in exchange for your honest opinion!  And the more you participate, the more badges you unlock, and the more badges you unlock the more exclusive discounts on products and services you get, the more rewards you earn and the more invite you receive to try out even more new and innovative products!

moo, gomax, 033

This VoxBox was the Palmolive Fresh Infusions VoxBox, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the box and found 3 full size bottles of Palmolive’s new Fresh Infusions dish liquid, plus some great coupons to share with my friends!  Fresh Infusions combines nature-inspired scents with the cleaning power of Palmolive that we know and trust!  Three unique, inviting and clean scents are available: Lemon Thyme, Ginger White Tea and Lime Basil.

palmolive8

I can remember being a little girl and having Palmolive in our house, so once I moved out on my own, this was the brand I used.  While they have come out with many varieties and scents, none match the wonderful aromas of the new Fresh Infusions line!  Every time I wash dishes, my kitchen is filled with a clean, fresh scent that lingers in the air and on my hands long after the dishes are done.  Palmolive gets my dishes, glasses, pots and pans literally sparkling clean without leaving any residue, and it easily removes the toughest cooked-on food, congealed grease and yucky grime without a lot of heavy scrubbing.  Plus, no matter how many dishes I scrub, Palmolive leaves my hands soft and moisturized, not dried out and smelling like chemicals.  Plus, Palmolive Fresh Infusions is phosphate-free.

palmolive2

I would be hard pressed to pick my favorite scent as all three smell really good, but since I love the scent of lemon, the Lemon Thyme is my first choice!  Second would be the Ginger White Tea, then the Lime Basil.  None of the three scents have that fake, manufactured-smell, but instead each one is pretty close to the scent their name claims.   They are far from over-powering, yet are not so light that they do not linger.  Instead, every time you wash the dishes, your entire kitchen is enveloped with the pleasant scent, and instead of the dirty smell of old food and grease, a clean natural scent wafts up from the water, foam and sponge.  Lemon Thyme has the clean citrus scent of lemon mixed with fresh cut thyme, and it comes in a pale yellow color.  Similarly, Lime Basil mixes the clean citrus scent of lime with fresh basil, and it is a light green color.  The pale pink-colored Ginger White Tea has the tangy zest of Ginger combined with the sweet, relaxing scent of White Tea.

palmolive3

I also like the simplicity of the bottles, in their size, shape, and labeling.  Each 16 full ounce bottle has a thin, tubular shape which takes up a lot less room than those wider, bulkier bottles.  They are made of clear plastic and have a very simple label, and the majority of color comes from the liquid inside.  They actually look good sitting on the back rim of the sink, with their simple, clean design.

palmolive4

Since it only takes a small amount of liquid to wash a lot of dishes, one bottle lasts quite a long time. I just add a dime-sized drop of dish liquid to my sponge, and I get nice, thick foamy lather that easily cleans the dirtiest dishes and leaves them shiny and clean!   Occasionally I will soak really tough to clean dishes in a sink full of soapy water, and even this takes only a few drops of liquid and a short amount of time to loosen the grime to where it washes away easily!  And regardless of how many dishes I wash, my hands are left incredibly soft, exactly as the brand has always claimed.  Did I mention that Palmolive Fresh Infusions is phosphate-free?

palmolive10

A bottle of Palmolive Fresh Infusions costs only $2.96 at Wal-Mart, which is a great price for such a wonderful, long-lasting product!  You can find Palmolive Fresh Infusions at Wal-Mart both online and off, as well as at many other grocery stores, drug stores, and mass merchandisers online and offline.  In my opinion, the ease of use, pleasant scent, simple bottle design and affordable price of Palmolive Fresh Infusions really makes washing the dishes a much more pleasant experience!

palmolive20

Since I was sent three full-sized bottles, I wanted to give one to a friend to see what she thought of it. I let her chose her favorite scent, and she picked the Lime Basil. She has been using it for the last six or seven days and tells me she will not go back to using her old brand.  She loves the way the Palmolive smells, but is equally impressed with how easily and how well it cleans her dishes.  Instead of using a soapy sponge, she washes her dishes by filling one side of her sink with warm, soapy water then rinsing them in the other side.  She told me it only takes a few drops of Palmolive to fill her sink with lots of thick, foamy bubbles, and that the scent is amazing! No more gross smelling dishwater, and no more having to use tons of dish liquid just to keep the water soapy enough to clean all the dishes!  Like me, she is truly impressed!
If you want even more reasons to try the new Palmolive Fresh Infusions, check out what other members of Influenster are saying on the Palmolive review page!  If you want to become a member of Influenster, I still have a few invitations left!  Just leave me a note in the comments section at the bottom of this page with your email, and I will send you one!  I only have 3 left, so let me know!  If I run out, you can request an invite through www.influenster.com.

Thank you Palmolive and Influenster for my free bottles of Palmolive Fresh Infusions!  All opinions are my own, and are honest and true.

Influenster Beauty Blogger’s VoxBox

Last week I received my second ever VoxBox from Influenster!  What is Influenster, you ask?  Only one of the coolest Word-Of-Mouth Marketing Websites!  Members of Influenster are chosen based on demographics and how active they are on their social networks to receive boxes filled with goodies in exchange for their honest opinion of the products.  The box I just received was the Beauty Blogger’s VoxBox, and it is filled to the rim with awesome products!
mangroomer 074
The first awesome item was a ever pro lashes starter kit made by Kiss.  This kit includes  a pair of lashes, a small bottle of latex-free adhesive, and a Pro Lash Applicator.  I have never used false lashes before, and although I was quite nervous about trying at the same time, I was excited! The lashes are made of 100% human hair, and the adhesive is a 24 hour hold and is waterproof.
mangroomer 076
The next item is a bottle of Vitabath Fragrance Mist with Vitamin E in Green Tea & Sage scent.  It is an 8 fl ounce pump bottle and the formula contains many antioxidants and vitamins including Acai, Goji, Coffee, Noni, pomegranate, Green Tea and Mangosteen, as well as vitamins A, B3, C, E and Pro-Vitamin B5.  With all of these antioxidants and vitamins you skin is left feeling soft and smelling great!  The Green Tea and Sage has a light, clean scent that reminds me of a cool, sunny day right after a cleansing rain.
mangroomer 103
There was also a package of EBOOST, Daily Health Booster.  This dietary supplement is full of vitamins, minerals and nutrients to help boost your energy and immunity.  It contains no sugar or artificial flavors and is low in calories.  This was the first time I have ever tried a supplement like this, and I was pleasantly surprised both by the taste and the energy boost.  All I had to do was empty the packet into a glass, add water and drink.  This one was an orange flavor, and it reminded me of fresh squeezed orange juice.
mangroomer 080
Next was a pack of Goody Simple Styles hair Spin Pin.  These corkscrew-shaped pins allow you to wear you hair in 3 different styles including the ‘soft spin’ or chignon, a side soft spin or a double spin, easily and quickly without using a ponytail holder.  Directions for each style are included in the pack, and are very easy to follow.  They remind me a bobby pins as far as the material they are made of and their color.  Unfortunately, my hair is pretty short but I was able to pull it back out of my face in order to get an idea of how they work.  They were extremely easy to insert and held my hair in place easily without any coming loose, and that is saying a lot since I have very curly hair!  You simply spin the spin pin clockwise to hold your style, and counter clockwise to release.  I cannot wait to experiment some more and see what styles I can come up with!  I definitely like these a lot better than ponytail holders and bobby pins!
mangroomer 077
I also received a 1.5 ounce tube of Not Your Mother’s Kinky Moves Curl Defining Cream.  My favorite styling product to help shape and define my curls has always been a cream, so I couldn’t wait to give this a try!  Infused with Grape seed and Jasmine, the scent was incredible, but the real test would be how well it eliminates frizz and defines and supports my curls!  After washing, conditioning and towel drying my hair, I was ready to apply the cream.  Since I just had my hair trimmed, it is very curly and needs little product, so I squeezed an amount about the size of a nickel to start with.  I simply worked it through my hair, from roots to tips, then gently ‘scrunched’ to help shape the curls.  Then I let my hair dry the rest of the way naturally.  The result?
mangroomer 092
Next was a New York Color Individual Eyes in their Dark Shadows palette.  This is a very cool concept in that this one case comes with everything you need to have beautiful shadowed eyes, including instructions!  This palette came with Primer Base, an Illuminator, 4 colors including 2 Crease/Contours, one a charcoal gray the other a bit lighter, an All Over Lid shadow in a light, silvery-gray and a Highlighter in a cream color;  all of which are labeled.  A double-sided sponge applicator is also included.  When you look on the back of the container there is a diagram with numbers showing you how to apply each color, as well as more step-by-step makeup application techniques underneath the label.  This is especially handy for people like me who have never learned how to apply eye shadow where you are blending and highlighting and such.  I couldn’t wait to give it a try!
mangroomer 083
I am a huge scented candle fan, so imagine how happy I was when I saw that this awesome VoxBox also came with a Bath and Body Works small White Barn Scented Candle in Mahogany Teakwood, as well as a special coupon to receive a Bath and Body Works 3 Wick candle for only $10!   I was ecstatic!  As soon as my husband came home from work,  I begged him to come with me straight to Bath and Body Works which luckily is less than 2 miles away!  After dragging my husband and son through the store and making them smell almost every candle in there, I made my decision, a Nutmeg and Spice.  Naturally, while waiting in line, I kept thinking about my original choice, Lavender Vanilla, so at the last minute I changed my mind and my wonderful husband ran to switch it out for me.  Of course, on the way out of the store, my husband and I both saw they had the candle in our favorite signature Bath and Body Works scent, Moonlight Path.  Wouldn’t you know it, we wound up turning around and switching the candle again!  What an awesome husband!  Anyway, now that we were both very happy with our choice, we made it out of the store, and back to our apartment where we immediately lit the candle.
mangroomer 100
mangroomer 095
So, my overall opinion?  I love this VoxBox!  Keep reading for an individual review of each products over the next few days, and if you think you might enjoy receiving boxes like this, then join me on Influenster!  If you need an invite, I have four left, so please leave a comment below with your email, and I will send you one!

Final Influenster Summer VoxBox Product Review

Always and Tampax Radiant

I must say that normally I would not write a post regarding feminine products, but since this was part of my Summer 2012 VoxBox from Influenster, and I tried the product, I wanted to share my opinion.
A short while ago, Always and Tampax, both Proctor and Gamble brands, came together to create a complete line of feminine care products that will appeal to each woman's unique style. They call this line the Radiant Collection, and it includes tampons, pads, liners and wipes, all of which were designed to have a stylish new look.  Both are well known brand names that have been around for years in the feminine care product world, so you can be certain that this is a quality collection.
I almost fell out laughing when I opened my VoxBox and saw that it included Always and Tampax, especially since that very morning..... well, let's just say that the timing was perfect! So I open the VoxBox and there on the bottom was a box with a cute little carry bag inside that was filled with Always and Tampax products along with a coupon for each product.  I love the little bag, it is very bright and cheerful and is the perfect size to fit in my purse. Inside the bag was samples of 4 different products: 1 package of 3 Always Radiant Incredibly Thin liners, 1 Always Radiant Infinity pad and 2 Tampax tampons, one regular and one super.

First off, the tampons. I like the packaging of the tampons because they have an easy-to-open, resealable wrapper.  Instead of tearing off the end of the package, you just peel back this sticker-like thing on the wrapper and removed the tampon.  Since it is resealable, it makes for cleaner disposal of the applicator.  No more wrapping toilet paper around and around it before throwing it in the trash!  The applicator was comfortable and easy to use, and I found that both provided good protection without any leaks.  I will be honest here though and admit that they were not very comfortable compared to the brand I regularly use.  The best way I know how to describe it is that each one seemed a little longer than necessary and I could tell it was there.  I honestly do not think I am going to change brands.  Please remember that every one's body is different, and you may find that they are comfortable to you.

Both the pad and the liners I liked a lot more.  The Always Radiant Incredibly Thin liners lived up to their name in that they are so very thin it's almost like they are not even there! They were very comfortable and absorbent.  They also have such a flexible design that I can see how they will work well with any style of panty.

The Always Infinity pad is made of a newer material that is advertised to conform to each individual shape.  I was kind of skeptical about that claim, but sure enough, it was quite comfortable and didn't get all squished up like I have seen some do!  It also had those wing things that help to hold it in place and provide protection against leaks.  It also offered great protection for quite awhile, and I have to admit it was not as uncomfortable as a lot of other pads I have used in the past.

So to sum it up, the Always and Tampax Radiant collection is a stylish and unique line of feminine care products.  While the tampons worked very well as far as protection is concerned, they were not very comfortable in my opinion.  Keep in mind though, every one's body is different, so you may find that they are comfortable to you. The pads and liners both stayed in place, were comfortable in that they were thin enough to not be too terribly noticeable, and they both worked very well.
I do know that these products are very reasonably priced, and you can easily find coupons to help you save even more.  They can be found at any grocery, drugstore or mass merchandiser.  If you want to learn more about the Radiant collection, you can check out both the Always website and the Tampax website.  To learn more about becoming an Influenster, where you can receive products for free in exchange for sharing your honest opinion, click here.

Influenster Summer VoxBox Item Review

Sally Hansen Nails & Cuticles Hand Creme

Thanks to Influenster, I have another new favorite item, Sally Hansen's Nails & Cuticles Hand Creme with Shea Butter. I have been using this creme for over a week now and am very impressed in the difference I see concerning the way my cuticles and nails look.  Since I do a lot of cleaning, cooking and washing, my hands tend to dry out quickly and my cuticles and nails are always dry and brittle-like.  It seems like almost every day my cuticles will split and lead to painful hangnails, and my nails would peel.
Let me give a quick lesson in anatomy for those who are not familiar with cuticles.  Your cuticles are those small folds of skin at the base of your nails.  Their purpose is to protect the area between the skin and the nail from infection.  Most people hardly notice their cuticles, but others, like me who suffer from dry skin may get small tears in the cuticles known as hangnails.  If you are like me and have nervous habits, you may tend to pull or pick at these hangnails which in turn leads to even more painful areas where I have pulled at the hang nail until it tears into the healthy skin in small, painful strips.  This can lead to redness and irritation and even infection.  This infection is called paronychia and is often caused by excessive manicuring, biting or tearing the cuticles, or frequent exposure of the hands to hard water and detergents.  Stress can also lead to this.  It hurts and is not very pretty!

typical hangnail

After using the creme for a week now, usually a few times a day right after I wash my hands and shower, and do any other chores which include getting my hands in water, I have noticed quite a difference!  My cuticles are much softer and no longer tear or crack.  My hands themselves are extremely soft, and they look and feel moisturized.  Even my nails look better with a healthy, conditioned shine.

I love the feel of this creme, it's very thick and non-greasy, and the scent is so fresh and citrus-like!  It does not take a lot when applying it to your fingers and hands.  Just a small dab, less than the size of a dime is the perfect amount for my size hands.  I have noticed that for about 30 to 45 seconds after applying my hands have a slightly greasy feel, but that is quickly absorbed and my hands are left feeling soft and moisturized.
Sally Hansen is a brand that has been around for as long as I can remember, and they are known for their great hand and nail care products.  You can learn more about Nails & Cuticles Hand Creme at their site here, as well as see the wide selection of products made by Sally Hansen.  There are also a lot of beauty tips and information.   You can find their products easily, available at almost any drugstore, grocery store or mass merchandiser.  A full sized bottle retails for around $5.99, but it will last for quite awhile!  I received a 1oz bottle and have been using it for over a week now and there is still a little more than half the bottle left.  Like I mentioned, a little goes a long way!
Keep in mind I received this product as part of my Summer 2012 VoxBox.  Influenster is a site where you can earn free products in exchange for sharing your honest opinion through out your social networks.  One difference between Influenster and other similar sites is that Influenster will send you a full box of samples instead of just 1 or 2.  The boxes are based on themes, and they choose who gets these boxes based on demographics. You have opportunities to earn badges, and the more badges you earn, the more your chances of qualifying increase.  If your are interested in becoming an Influenster you can sign up on their site at www.influenster.com.

Summer VoxBox Hawaiian Tropic Review

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Review

Another item I received from Influenster in my Summer 2012 VoxBox was a great smelling and much needed bottle of Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration lotion sunscreen.  While growing up I never really had to use much sunblock since I have an olive undertone to my skin and I would rarely get sunburned.  However, now that I am a little bit older, my skin tends to burn a lot easier.  With this summer being so extremely hot and very short on rain,  I can get a slight sunburn from being outside for even just a small amount of time.  Therefore, I have been using a variety of sunscreens trying to find one I really like that doesn't irritate my skin.  To my delight, when I opened the VoxBox, what was inside but a bottle of Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration lotion sunscreen with an SPF of 30!  I decided to put away my other sunscreens and give this one a try.

The first thing I noticed was the incredible scent.  I was expecting it to smell like the majority of other sunscreens with that aroma reminiscent of coconuts.  Nope. This lotion has a wonderfully fresh, almost citrus-y aroma that reminded me of the tropics.  So incredibly nice!
Now, judging by the name, Silk Hydration, I figured it would go on smooth as silk and keep my skin feeling hydrated while out in the sun. It is advertised to moisturize your skin for up to 12 hours while in the sun, and contains nourishing antioxidants and exotic botanicals.  Well, not only did it keep my skin hydrated while outside, but my skin actually stayed soft and hydrated feeling even after I had showered and washed the lotion off.
Silk Hydration is a very lightweight lotion which absorbs quickly and goes on smoothly without leaving your skin feeling greasy and slick.  I especially liked how it did not clog my pores so that when I had been in the sun for awhile, and was super hot and beginning to sweat, or as we say in the South, glow, pools of moisture did not collect all over my skin to where it looked like I had dipped my arm in the pool.  I have had this happen with a bunch of different lotions and cannot stand it!
After spending a while out by the pool, I was pleased to see that the lotion had provided the perfect amount of protection for my skin tone with no areas of sunburn anywhere I had applied it.  The sample I received has an SPF of 30 which works well for me, but if you easily burn, you might want to consider getting one with a higher SPF.  The Silk Hydration line is available in an SPF of 12, 30 and 50, all of which provide safe and effective broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection.
I did not see anything about this lotion being waterproof, so I would advise that you reapply after swimming, sweating profusely or drying off with a towel to make sure your skin is protected at all times while out in the sun.
Hawaiian Tropic is a brand that has been around for as long as I can remember and has always made excellent, reliable products.  The Silk Hydration line is no exception;  I really enjoy using it and recommend giving it a try. It is easily available at many stores and the suggested retail price is $8.99 for a 6oz bottle.  If you want to learn more about the different lines of sunscreen made by Hawaiian Tropic you can visit their site by clicking here .  Remember, I received this lotion for free as part of my Summer 2012 VoxBox from Influenster.  I was not compensated in any way for this review, and all opinions are my own.

Influenster Summer VoxBox Quaker Soft Baked Bar

Review of Quaker Soft Baked Bar in Banana Nut Bread

Oh wow! Talk about yummy treats!  Have you tried the new Soft Baked Bars by Quaker?  If not, you should!!  I received one as part of my Influenster Summer VoxBox in the Banana Nut Bread flavor, and it was truly delicious!  The best part of all? They are actually a pretty healthy treat as far as a snack food goes!

These bars come in two flavors, Banana Nut Bread and Cinnamon Pecan Bread, and are made with plenty of tasty ingredients and key nutrients to provide you the needed fuel to start your day.  The Cinnamon Pecan Bread Bars are made with real pecans, cinnamon, raisins and whole grain Quaker oats.  They contain 5 grams of fiber, 20 percent daily value of 5 different B vitamins, 6 grams of protein, 4 grams of total fat and 140 calories.  I tried the Banana Nut Bread flavor which are made with real bananas and almonds and whole grain Quaker oats.  They have 5 grams of fiber, 20 percent daily value of 5 different B vitamins, 6 grams of protein, 3.5 grams of total fat and 140 calories.  Not too bad for a breakfast bar or a quick snack, especially when compared to a lot of other snack bars.

I was really impressed when I first tried the bar and discovered it really did taste like fresh baked banana nut bread.  It was soft and chewy, and had just the right amount of crunch added by the slices of almonds sprinkled across the top.  I liked it so well that my husband and I bought a box to have on hand at home.  These bars are the perfect size for a light morning breakfast or for a quick snack, and are tasty and filling!  I even tried one warmed in the microwave as the package suggested and it was wonderful, even more soft and fresh-baked tasting!

Five (5) bars come in each box and, according to my card from Influenster, have a suggested retail price of around $3.29;  however, we bought ours at Walmart Super Center for around $2.85. There are coupons available at the moment on the Quaker site (here) through RedPlum. I do not know how long they will be available so if you think you want to try them, get your coupon now!

When I first saw the Quaker Soft Baked Bar in my VoxBox, I was hesitant to try it for a couple of reasons.  First of all, I am not a huge fan of banana nut bread, especially if it is not home made from a recipe.  Secondly, every time I have tried a banana nut bread flavored snack, whether it be a bar or a muffin or whatever, the taste has been very off-putting and not at all reminiscent of true banana nut bread.  I decided to take a chance and try it, and now I am so glad that I did!  You should too!
Remember, I received this product as a free sample which was part of my Summer VoxBox from Influenster.  I was not compensated in any way for this review, and all opinions are my own.  If you want to become a member of Influenster where you can sample products for free, and all they ask in return is for you to share your honest opinion with your social network, you can sign up on their site at  http://www.influenster.com.

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color Review Influenster

Influenster Summer VoxBox Product Review

One of the neatest items I received in my Summer VoxBox from Influenster was a full sized bottle of Sally Hansen's Magnetic Nail Color.  The color I received is this shiny dark silvery gray called Graphite Gravity.  We all know that Sally Hansen makes some wonderful nail and hand care products.  Every polish of hers I have used goes on smoothly, lasts a long time without chipping or fading, and has great color and shine.  This polish is no exception!

There is one incredible difference between this polish and all others!  The Magnetic Nail Color is just what its name suggests!  Each color has little metallic particles mixed in with the polish.  A magnet is included in the over-cap of the polish, which in turn has a little lip on it that you place right below the cuticle of the nail you are painting in order to keep the magnet from touching the wet polish.  When you hold the magnet over the painted nail for 10 seconds, this really cool 3-D like design appears as an end result!  How cool is that!!

It is really simple to use.  The suggested steps are as follows:
- first paint each nail with a base coat and allow to dry
- then shake Magnetic nail color very well to activate
- remove the over-cap with magnet and set aside
- apply one coat of the Magnetic polish to all 10 nails and allow to dry
- next apply a second, thicker coat to 1 nail and immediately hold the magnet over that nail for 10
seconds with the raised lip resting on your cuticle. Do not allow the magnet to touch the painted nail
- repeat with all remaining nails and let dry
- finish with a top coat (optional)
clear coat
1st coat
2nd, thicker coat
hold magnet over nail for 10 seconds
I was really surprised with how well this worked.  The only advice I have to give is be sure to shake the polish very well before beginning and make sure the second coat you apply is thick.  It also seems to work better the wetter the polish.
Compare the middle finger nail, on which I did not use the magnet, to the other nails on which I did.

I did decide to do a bit of experimenting for fun when I started on my second hand and used a stronger magnet from my refrigerator instead of the one in the over-cap. The result?  More 3-D lines.  It looks very neat!
I used a stronger magnet from my refrigerator for this effect! Notice more lines appeared.

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color is available in eight shocking shades including:
  • Graphite Gravity
  • Electric Emerald
  • Ionic Indigo
  • Golden Conduct
  • Red-y  Response
  • Silver Elements
  • Polar Purple
  • Kinetic Copper
You can click here to visit the Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color website and see all the shades yourself.  You can also read reviews, discover nail beauty tips, find other polishes in beautiful colors and learn all about the Sally Hansen product line.
If you are a fan of nail polish, and love trying new looks and style, this polish is a must for you! I have been wearing this polish for quite a few days now and true to the Sally Hansen brand, the color is still vibrant and shiny, and there are no chips or peeling. It was easy to apply and the smell was not too strong.  I did use polish remover on one nail to see how easy it was to remove, and was very pleased with the results.  Unlike a lot of dark-colored polishes that leave a faint stain of color, this one came off easily and completely with very little rubbing.
Remember, I received this as part of my Influenster Summer VoxBox.  Influenster is a fun website that sends you free products to try in return for you honest opinion.  All they ask is that you share your experience across your social networks.  You can go to their site at http://www.influenster.com to join.

Influenster Summer Vox Box

Opening of My First Influenster VoxBox: The Summer Beauty VoxBox

I am so excited because I finally got chosen to receive my first VoxBox from Influenster!  For those of you that do not know what Influenster is, it's a word of mouth marketing website that sends you free products in exchange for your honest opinion. All they ask is that you spread your opinion through out your social network.  One thing that is a little different about Influenster from the other sites I belong to is that Influenster will send you not just one sample, but an entire box of samples which are grouped according to a theme.  I received the summer VoxBox which has samples of items you would use in the summer.  Other boxes in the past have included a Love VoxBox, a Spring VoxBox, a Mom VoxBox and so on. Once you join, you do have to wait for awhile before you are chosen to receive a VoxBox based on your demographics.  Influenster uses badges, classified into two groups, Influencer and Lifestyle, which you earn in order to increase your rank or score which in turn makes you more eligible to be considered to receive a new VoxBox.  They are pretty easy to earn and range from badges like the Tweetster and Youtuber, which you earn by linking your accounts with Influenster, to the Examiner and Promoter badges which you earn by reviewing products and spreading the word. I spent my wait completing as many badges as possible to show that I am an active and willing participant.  After maybe 4 weeks, I received my first offer.   So, let's open the box and see what we have!
I have posted a video on YouTube which covers the opening of the VoxBox which you can view by clicking here .

  Inside the Summer VoxBox was:
- an Influenster card which has a short description of each product as well as the retail value.

- a 2 oz sample of Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration lotion sunscreen with an SPF of 30.  Definitely a much needed item for this extremely hot and sunny Alabama summer!  Retail price:$8.99 6oz bottle.

- a delicious Quaker Soft Baked Bar in Banana Nut Bread. Yummy and only 140 calories/ bar! Retail price $3.29 per multi-bar package.

- a 1 oz tube of Sally Hansen Nails and Cuticles Hand Creme with Shea Butter.  Leaves cuticles and hands so soft! retail price $5.99 for a full size bottle.

- a full size bottle of Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color in Graphite Gravity. So cool! Has metallic particles in it and you use included magnet to hold over painted nail and it makes a cool design by pulling on the metallic particles.  Retail price $9.99.

- a cute carry pouch filled with samples of liners, pads and tampons from Tampax and Always Radiant Collection. A cute carry bag full of feminine "must-have's"!  Retail prices vary per box

* Based on demographics, some Influensters also received Clear Scalp and Hair Beauty Therapy shampoo and conditioner.  Unfortunately, I was not in the chosen demographic. Retail price $4.99-$5.99 for 12.7 and 12.9 oz bottles.
